I am experienced in web design & development, Flash design & development, image editing, still photography, and video production. I particularly enjoy being able to integrate as many of these together as possible.
I was responsible for day-to-day updates to several of the organization's sites; re-coding existing pages, creating new pages based on their style guide, performing image editing, transcoding video files, posting content to a CMS/Blogging system (MovableType), tracking all work performed, and communicating with stakeholders.
I was responsible for creating blocks and pages within the Magento CMS, including manual edits to XHTML and CSS code. I also researched information for inclusion on new pages and performed some image editing.
I recently designed and developed a site for a Puget Sound area media production company. While they do have visual elements to present via their past work, their site needed to be more of a sales pitch explaining their services. Thus, I was challenged with making a text-heavy site look interesting, and did so via a stylish font and perspective distortion.
I was the sole designer and developer for this site since its inception, including a complete redesign in 2007. Using a practical adherence to web standards and SEO practices, it was the leading performance auto website in the Northwest including #1 Google positioning for terms such as "Corvette Performance Seattle," "Mustang Specialist Seattle," and "Auto Performance Shop Seattle."
I did all of the SEO and reporting/tracking work in addition to as-needed maintenance and updates, including image and video editing. Their ZenCart-based ecommerce system was also set-up by me.
This is a site I designed & developed for a Seattle area fashion designer. She wanted to be able to show examples of her work - past and present - to give potential customers an idea of the type of style she has. Those customers were broken down into two categories: individuals looking to commission an outfit, and wholesalers. Because of this, we wanted the site to look trendy yet professional - thus there are some traditional elements (top banner/logo, left-nav) and some "flavor" elements (red background color [in keeping with her company style guide], slightly different font choice [Verdana], "flourish" background-image).
Having shot video at a fashion show featuring their outfits, and wanting to create a site that was visual in nature instead of being "texty," I put this Flash page together. The background images are stills from the video I shot.
I also created a short Flash video presentation consisting of a portion of the show. While watching the video, viewers can click a button to stop the video and display a description of the outfit currently on-screen.
I designed and developed this small site as a Flash-only application for a "post-graduate" project after completing the Flash courses at eVolve Seattle. It was not finished due to the owner's move to California causing a change in business focus.
This is my personal site featuring samples of my creative work. I designed and developed the opening sequence using Balthaser.com's pro:FX Flash application. The sub-pages were designed/developed with standard XHTML/CSS/JavaScript.
As a personal project in game design and development, I began porting the popular table-top card game Dominion into a Flash game. Much of the game functionality works, but the "details" of game setup are non-customizable at present (i.e. Entering player names).
As another personal project, I began programming the board game "Arkham Horror" into a Flash-based game. It is currently still in development due to interruptions from "real life."
I began developing this site using XHTML/CSS/JavaScript based on a third-party's Illustrator-generated design. The project was unfinished due to a budgeting dispute between the designer and the consulate. The sample of work provided via the link above does not contain images which I did not have the rights to, thus placeholders appear in several spots.
